Well tomorrow is Thursday. And I am a little sad about it.
We have been having an immensely sweet week around here. And I won't be the only one sad to see it end.
We have had three of our all-time favorites here this week on their spring break. They are in college now and we have all been looking forward to them coming to Florida to visit.
Having them here is like a taste of the old days. They spent countless days into the wee early morning hours at our house when they were in high school. They have dog-sat for us. They helped us move. And our kids have known these three since they can remember.
I think Simeon hugged them each at least ten times in the first hour they were here.
We have filled the days so far. The guys all went to downtown Tampa the first evening they were here. And of course we've been to the beach.
But we have spent some good time just hanging out.
We went to a state park yesterday. There was much hand-holding and bonding. So clear how much our kids love these guys.
These two are buddies. Blaise just adores Brandon. He told me it's because Brandon wears such cool shorts. Ha! We have been dying over that one.
Austin being Simon in Simon Says...
Last night we all went to the drive-in movie to see Zootopia. That was super fun. Because it was a late night, I kept the little kids home from preschool and we all went back to the beach today. We went to St. Pete this time. Every time we go I can't get over how stunning it is.
Silas, Shane, Austin, Brandon, Christian, and Simeon. Blaise wasn't having the cool water and stayed on shore with me.
Proof that the girls were there too!
At one point this afternoon I looked around at the college crowd on the sand and thought, there's not too many guys who would spend their spring break digging a hole in the sand with a 3-year old. I am prayerful our boys turn out as gracious and kind as these guys are.
And while it has been super fun taking care of them all week, and while it makes me kinda look forward to having teenagers someday, I am thankful that today I could just hysterically laugh at their spring break playlist rather than feeling the need to shake my head and wonder where I went wrong. I told them sarcastically that their mamas would be proud.
