Fun Fall Day

Tonight it is cold here.  Like in the 20's cold.  And before heading upstairs for bathtime, Shane took the children outside to play in the snow.  It's a really wet snow, but it's sticking and will probably still be around in the morning.

It's really crazy because Saturday was one of the most beautiful fall days I remember.

Shane was at a conference with over 200 men from our church from Friday till Saturday night so on Saturday morning we went over to my friend Natalie's house for breakfast.  Natalie was so sweet to plan and host four of us and our children while our husbands were away.  And in true Natalie fashion, she went all out on breakfast for us, making fun and delightful breakfast things including quiche, cinnamon rolls, and frozen yoghurt covered blueberries on a stick.  It was so fun.

When we got home late morning, I realized how gorgeous it was outside.  So rather than heading in and pulling something together for lunch, we played outside instead.  Our yard is a wonderland of fall leaves and we hadn't yet played in them.  It's hard to believe this is all now covered in snow...

We finally went inside for lunch and rest times.  Then we headed back outside for more play.  Honestly, it wasn't quite warm enough for no shoes (you'll notice the boys) but they didn't care.

Silas helped rake a leaf pile next to our big rock...

Then he jumped...

And Simeon jumped...

I missed Lieren jumping...

And then Blaisey jumped!

Silas ended the afternoon laying in the leaves looking up at the sky...

I laid down beside him and this is the view we soaked in...

A couple hours later, Shane was home.  And we had fun stories to tell about our day.
