This is a big week around our house. First of all, we have made it to 35 weeks! This is an amazing blessing. After 6 weeks of thinking that I might be going into labor at any time, I am thrilled and grateful to have made it this far. Every night Silas and I thank the Lord in our prayertime for another day with our babies staying in place.
.
Second, my parents arrive in Louisville tomorrow from across the world! Hallelujah! Anyone who knows me knows how exciting this is - and right at this moment my Mom called to let me know they are heading to the airport! We haven't seen my parents since last summer so we are not only looking forward to just being together and letting them have lots of time with their first and only (for a few more days) grandbaby Silas, but we are also more than thankful that the Lord has seen it fit that they get to be here for the birth of their next two grandbabies. His timing is perfect and I have offered thanks over and over that we will get to be with both our families for this special birth.
.
As if that wasn't enough, I am going to get my hair trimmed on Wednesday. It hasn't been done this entire pregnancy and I'm more than ready to get it shaped up. It will feel so good, I can't wait. And I will get out of the house!
.
Then, on Thursday we have our big ultrasound and doctor's appointment. We hope to get a good estimate of the babies' sizes and development during the ultrasound. And then (I can hardly even bring myself to write this from how excited I am!) we will meet with my doctor and make a plan for delivery! I anticipate leaving from the doctor knowing when we will get to meet these little ones. Don't worry, I will let everyone know as soon as possible!
.
So with everything we are looking forward to this week, it has not once been lost on me that these are the last days of us just being a family of three. Once my parents get here, everything changes. And while we are very much looking forward to all that is coming the next few weeks, I am trying my best to cherish the last few moments with Shane and Silas doing life as we know it now. Shane and I decided no babysitters or playdates yesterday and today for the times he has had to be gone. Silas and I are playing and doing meals like we used to (as much as possible; I am not very mobile these days!). Last night I was exhausted after it all and fell asleep early! But it was worth every moment of time with my firstborn.

Hey! I know your parents are coming now..but after the babies get here I want to cook some meals for you! You are such a wonderful mother and I can't wait to see you as a mother to 3!! Even though your parents will be here, please let me know if you need anything!
Sigh, there is nothing like time with your firstborn...so glad your parents are arriving soon and even more thankful that babies are content to stay put a bit longer. I'm sending a package this week. Lots of love!
Rejoicing with you! We've been saying the same prayers every night with Hudson - thankful that you've made it to 35 weeks!
Give your parents a hug for me. I'm so very excited that they'll get to be with you through the arrival of your dear ones. I know this is truly a blessing from the Lord!
Hang in there, girl! You'll see your toes soon!
Love and hugs...
So excited for you to have your parents there! My boys were born at 36 weeks and they were fat and sassy and ready to go home. I pray that your babies will be the same!
Blessings,
Tracy
Praying for your sweet parents as they travel. What a blessing they will be to all three (and soon 5 of you)! Praying as you cherish these last few days with Silas and prepare to meet those two precious babies!
Rejoicing and praising God with you, Shane and Slias!!
