Afternoon Adventures

A week ago today we said goodbye to the house we've loved for the last 2 and a half years...

And said hello to another...

We're not sure how long we'll be here, but for now, we are finding there are all kinds of adventures to be had when you don't live on Main Street anymore!

Stitches

Our front door swung back and hit Silas last night. We had been at a picnic with our church family so were getting home past bedtime. I put the little three to bed while Shane took Silas to the hospital. Our boy was strong and brave getting his 4 stitches. He came home tired but with all kinds of stories to tell!

Little Reader

Reading a High Five (by Highlights magazine) book we put together this week.  This was the first time he had read it and I hadn't read it to him yet.  Reading is definitely a strength for him right now.  I told Shane yesterday that doing little experiments and projects is Silas' love language.

First Summer Swim

Silas had T-ball this morning so the three littler ones and I cheered for him and his team, the Caramel Camels.  It was an unfortunate color choice by someone for sure.  But Si doesn't seem to care and is having fun with both soccer and T-ball this year.

You just never know what might happen when a certain brother starts to get bored...

Those of us on the sidelines were already dressed for the pool.  It is right by the fields where Silas plays, so we headed there when the game was over.

This was our first pool trip this summer and it was a great success.  Several of our regular playdate friends were there and the kids all had fun playing together. My older three were much more independent this year than last, which made the whole thing easier.  Blaise jumped right in with no fear (as I expected).  He astounds me, that boy.  The only time he was upset was when someone tried to hold his hand and walk.  He would rather do it on his own, thank-you-very-much.  Simeon went down the slide on his own multiple times, and Silas played like crazy with friends till exhaustion took over.  Lieren spent her time in the shallow mainly, playing with toys.

Natalie and I just stood there at one point, remembering that first summer we did these pool trips.  It was two years ago.  Silas was Sim and Lieren's age.  They were all just babies.  And, boy, were those pool days a lot of work!

Yesterday

I guess I need to quit blinking because something happened yesterday and all of a sudden he became one of them...
