Swim Lessons

We signed the kids up for swim lessons recently and they are all really liking getting to swim in the winter. Silas is in an older class and Simeon and Lieren are in a younger class together. After everyone did so well the first week, I signed myself and Blaise up for a parent-toddler class that happens simultaneously with the others. The lifeguards informed us that they are loving the fact that we have 4 kids in the pool at the same time!

Sledding?

But mom, he said, I want to sled down the stairs!

Um, no. 

And this happened...

I was thinking this morning that exactly 4 years ago I started potty training Silas. And now here he is looking so old with a lost upper tooth. 

When did I blink? The days are flying. 

And now Blaise is older than Silas was all those 4 years ago and I haven't hardly given potty training a thought. We'll get there. Three was the magical potty age for the other two boys so I'm pretty much aiming for that this time around. It's nice to know it will come in time. 

Snow Hill

We finally got several inches of snow and after I got home from work the other day we headed out the back door to try our very own sledding hill. 

It was great fun but we learned two things:

1.  We need better cold-hand protection,

and

2.  we need more sleds!

Post-Christmas Chaos

This is pretty much how every open space in the house looks these days. I am slowly unearthing some breathing room and by tonight all the Christmas things will be put away. Just the tree remains at the moment. 

So when Simeon asked to paint this afternoon, I told him he probably needed to pick something up first to have some room. He promptly went to the dining table where I had just cleared several boxes of Christmas ornaments. 

I can just paint here!

Of course...why clean up when there is somewhere to make another mess??
