This Morning

So I realized this morning that all our kids are somewhat self-sustaining for waking up in the morning. No one needs me to get them out of bed. And there is something really sweet about it.

This morning I was in our room and heard Blaise open the door to the room he shares with Silas. "Hi Le-len!" He greeted his sister who was in the hall. Silas got up then too and they all started a little conversation.

"I want my boots on Le-len" said Blaise.

"Ok!" And it sounded like she was helping put them on.

"Lieren, what is 4 plus 4?" Silas asked.

"8"

"Right. And 8 plus 8 is 16. But don't ask me what's 16 plus 16. Ask mommy. Cause I sure don't know!"

Then Blaise stomped in to me to say good morning with Tiger, Lemur, and Meow in tow.  They sleep with him each night and go in the car with us most places too...

The New Look of Summer Nights

We got home just before bedtime tonight and stayed out to play with the neighborhood kids.  We haven't ever had this anywhere we've lived. This move hasn't been the easiest. But tonight I am reminded of God's goodness to give us what we have prayed for. Friends are a joy.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Love/Hate

Yesterday I stood in our new home, feeding the kids lunch at the counter in the kitchen (which I have so missed in our current home!) and felt such an immense gratitude that we are finally settling somewhere. I kept telling our children how much I loved having them right there with me in the kitchen. Isn't this wonderful, I kept saying.

And it is wonderful. We saw our first deer yesterday.

I am just trying to let myself not need everything to be perfect right away. I mean, it is what it is when you move. And sometimes the toddler beds end up in the living room.

Oh well.

Moving

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior"
