Little Buddies

So one thing I do want to remember about Blaise in this season is how special his relationship is with Lieren.

They are just little buddies, those two.

After we drop Simeon and Lieren off at preschool, Blaise will often say softly and wishfully, Mommy, I miss Lee-yen. And I will gently remind him that we will have her back soon.

They have little games they play together. One of their favorites is The Puppy Game. They will have to explain it to you sometime.

They are happy and content together and rarely argue between them. Whenever I have just those two, I relish the bliss of it. They are quite a pair.

They are closer is size and looks than Lieren is to Simeon, which is so very interesting to me; a fascinating study and another day.

I actually love that Lieren has a special relationship with each of her brothers. As someone who always wanted a brother, I can appreciate what she has in them. But for these days... this season... this bond is unique.

Turning Four

Our Blaisey turned 4 last week. I wrote quite a bit about him when he started preschool last fall and I am not sure my heart can take such reminiscing right now.

We started the day with our normal Saturday activities and then all met at our house for lunch and the birthday festivities. Blaise was so blessed to have both sets of grandparents here for this birthday. Such a gift.

We had McDonald's (his lunch choice), then opened gifts. We didn't have specific plans for the rest of the day and it was so fun to just watch Blaise play with each of his gifts for a good long time.

We then headed for Ballast Point, a park favorite of ours. It was beautiful out and windy walking on the pier. Such a good celebration for a big 4 year old.

And then on Sunday, the mid-afternoon birthday crash was hard. This never happens so I was soaking it up.

Just love this boy.

In His Happy Place

Blaise loves this spot, surrounded by Lego instruction books.
