After 4 Months...

After four months of living in Louisville, I finally got to see one of my dearest friends from Missouri! Alisa and I went to graduate school together, then worked at a hospital in Springfield together until we moved in January. She is the kind of friend that will never be replaced, no matter how many new relationships I form. I miss seeing and talking to her just about daily, like we did when we were in school and working together. Alisa's family is from a small town just north of Lousiville in Indiana, so when they came to visit this weekend, I was more than thrilled to make the short drive to see her!!

So here we are...me at 30 weeks and showing! Maybe someday I'll fit back into jeans the size Alisa's wearing!!

Illini Basketball

I meant to put this on a while back, but just didn't get around to it. Chuck got Shane and Tak tickets to an Illinois game in Indianapolis. Illinois pulled out a win, and the guys got hang out. We love living closer to so many of Shane's friends!

30 Weeks

I took this picture myself. Oh, do I look as tired as I felt that day after a long day at work?

Into the Third Trimester

Another milestone in pregnancy has come this week...I am 26 weeks along so have entered into the third trimester! I actually hadn't thought about it until just a couple of days ago and found myself pretty surprised to have made it this far already. With just over three months to go, we have been starting to do more to get ready for our little guy to join us.

This week we'll go to our first class at the hospital: anesthesia for labor and delivery. I anticipate I'll be deciding the anesthesia is a good option!

We also have been spending lots of time at Target, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us. It has been a blast looking at all the basic necessities and frivolous extras that we have to choose from. Just this week I was in Target and a new Louisville friend, Emily, happenend upon me in one of the baby aisles. She was such a gift, talking me through all the best bottle and diaper choices, as well as filling me in on some things I would have never thought to register for. We had such fun and I left thanking the Lord for friends who have walked this road before me.

Shane says this shirt doesn't quite reveal how much I'm showing since it's black. But it will have to do for now...

Our Boys

I thought it would be fun to share some of our dogs' new habits now that we've moved. Luther is much more mild than Augustine, but he does have some funny ways about him. He has recently decided that he enjoys eating while laying down...

And this is the look that Shane gets every evening prior to going on a "w". We don't say the word "walk" in our house unless we really mean it!

Augustine, on the other hand, has more quirks than any of us. He loves to sleep snuggled with pillows and blankets or on anything soft. We often find him napping in a pile of sheets or clothes...

He also loves to sleep on his back. In the middle of the night, we sometimes wake to his heavy breathing and there he is at the end of the bed, legs splayed in the air...

This is a new spot that he's found and loves. He can look out the front windows while laying down, chin resting on the window sill. He'll spend hours on a Saturday right here...

And the new games he's discovered now that he has stairs! He just recently started wanting us to throw a ball upstairs, then instead of bringing it back to us, he'll drop it at the top of the stairs and joyfully watch it bounce down to us...all in the hopes of doing it again...
But silliness, quirks and all, they always have each other!
